Chapter Summary

We have seen that theology for Petrus van Mastricht means a reflection upon the principium cognoscendi, Scripture. It is a reflection on the biblical text in a grammatical-philological exegetical way that leads to the formulation of doctrine and praxis. This reflection is goal-oriented and through faith directed to the principium essendi, God. This chapter examines the presentation of the loci of the doctrine of God of the Theoretico-practica theologia (TPT) and whether the critique of this doctrine is justifiable.
