Chapter Summary

This section of the book titled The Expansion of Prophetic Experience presents five appendices. The first appendix talks about the word of Prophet Mohammad, and presents an interview with the book's author Abdulkarim Soroush. The second and third appendices discuss Ayatollah Sobhanis first letter to Soroush and Soroushs first response to Sobhani. The fourth appendix describes Ayatollah Sobhanis second letter. A verse in Koran sees the Prophet in two lights: a human being like other human beings; and the recipient of revelation. The fifth appendix deals with the Soroushs second response to Sobhani. The model of revelation that considers the Prophet a pure recipient and reporter, posits a speaker-loudspeaker relationship between God and the Prophet.
