This chapter presents English translations of Arabic texts dealing with several instances of the preparation of hierata which is useful against hemiplegia, facial paralysis, colic, convulsions, limpness, latent diseases, difficulty in breathing, vertigo, black bile that is spread over the body corrupting it, hoarseness caused by moisture, sore throat, convulsions, colic, rheumatism and yellow water. In each instance, a description of the preparation of the medicine is also provided.
