Chapter Summary

This index presents a list of ancient sources that occur in the book titled Paul: Jew, Greek, and Roman. The sources are grouped as those occurring in the Old Testament, Old Testament Apocrypha, Old Testament Pseudepigrapha, Rabbinic literature and other Jewish literature, Qumran literature, the New Testament, Hellenistic Jewish literature, Greco-Roman literature, and Papyri and Inscriptions. The early Christian authors are also listed separately. Paul is both a complex individual of the ancient world, because he combines in his one personage features of life in each of these cultural-ethnic (and even religious) areas of the ancient world, and one of many people of that world who evidenced such complexity.
