Chapter Summary

This preliminary material presents the contents section of the book Between Two Worlds: The Frontier Region between Ancient Nubia and Egypt 3700 BC AD 500. A list of tables, list of plates, preface, acknowledgements, and a note on geographical terms that occur in the book are provided here. The political and geographical term Kush, that occurs in the book, refers to the native kingdom emerging after the end of the Egyptian New Kingdom occupation and existing in the Middle Nile Region as a political unit until the AD fourth century. The book re-assesses the textual and archaeological evidence concerning the interaction between Egypt and the polities emerging in Upper Nubia between the Late Neolithic period and 500 AD.
