Chapter Summary

This chapter presents a table, which is a concordance of the three major witnesses of Aetius' compendium in the editions of Mau, Wachsmuth and Raeder respectively, together with the reconstructions of Diels and the author's own reconstruction (Book II only). The table assists the reader in locating all the textual remains of Aetius in the three texts and two reconstructions. In many cases this means that the numbering is more detailed than in the actual editions, but the method can be easily followed when the text is compared to the reconstructions. In order to make the concordance as precise as possible, the texts are numbered to the furthest point of discrimination. In many cases this means that the numbering is more detailed than in the actual editions, but the method can be easily followed when the text is compared to the reconstructions.
