Chapter Summary

This prologue presents the background details of the book. The book focuses on domestic issues concerning both the present and the future of the state. In doing so, it illuminates an inner-Israeli discussion related to daily life, which when compared to the media coverage of subjects related to the Holocaust or the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, is clearly not adequately represented. The book also provides a better understanding of such domestic issues as identity formation that take place within the complex Israeli society.

Keywords: Israeli society; Israeli-Palestinian conflict
