Chapter Summary

This section of this book titled History and folklore in a medieval Jewish chronicle: the family chronicle of Ahima'az ben Paltiel presents the maps of the geo-political setting of Southern Italy (IX-XI centuries), the geographical setting of the chronicle, and early Medieval Italy (IX-XI centuries). It also presents illustrations of the chronicle of Aḥima῾az, an image of Church of S. Marcello Maggiore, and the Precious cups of the Fatimid period. The section also depicts the pictures of the Imperial Cathedral of Aachen and the Church of Saint Sophia in Constantinople. It shows the Fragment of early medieval bas-relief exposed at the exterior entrance of the Church of S. Crisogono.
