Chapter Summary

This appendix section contains the details of personal letter (Letter 98) of ʿAyn al-Quḍāt. ʿAyn al-Quḍāt addressed the letter to an unidentified person who criticized him for appealing to his captors for release from the prison in Baghdad. The letter is enveloped in an aura of sarcasm and mockery, which express ʿAyn al-Quḍāt's frustration as he responds to the main criticisms. "Letter 98" justifies the significance of the homeland in ʿAyn al-Quḍāt's defense treatise.
