Chapter Summary

This appendix of the book Studies in Atatürk's Turkey presents a condensed memorandum concerning the organization and points of view of the league for the defense of the rights of Anatolia and Rumelia. As shown in the annexed regulations, the foremost object of the league is, on the one hand, to constitute the national forces into a factor for the maintenance of the territorial integrity of the Ottoman Fatherland within the borders already mentioned and for the defense of the national independence and the rights of the caliphate and throne and, on the other hand, to establish the supremacy of the national will.
