This section of the book titled Between Social Skills and Marketable Skills presents Zanzibar's census data. Despite a first census in 1910, a larger quantity of data was available only from 1921. These numbers were still only estimations regarding the different populations of Zanzibar. In 1910, Zanzibar thus had a non-indigenous population of 8.987, while respective numbers were 14.132 in 1921. The section also presents governments and administrations of Zanzibar, Zanzibar's elections held on 1961, 1963, 1995 and 2000 and school development statistics.
