Chapter Summary

This front matter section of the book Excavations at Tall Jawa, Jordan contains the table of contents, preface, list of excavation and survey team members, list of tables, charts, and appendices and list of illustrations. The book is one of five volumes which present the results of all six seasons of excavation at Tall Jawa (1989, 1991-1995). The material presented in the book consists of the final report on the Early Islamic house (B600) in Field D, including details of the architecture, decoration (painted plaster and mosaic floors), glass vessels, pottery, and artefacts. Problems of stratigraphy, along with a synthesis of the settlement history and chronology, are an attempt to put this discovery into a broader cultural context.
