Chapter Summary

This appendix section of this book contains nine appendices. First and second appendix presents a list of British ambassadors to Turkey (1583-2008) and Turkish ambassadors to Britain 1793-2008. Third appendix explains that use of communications with Constantinople "ye surest, and most speedy conveyance you can", read the royal instructions to Lord Chandos. Fourth appendix presents a list of British consular posts and consular officers in the Ottoman Empire 1852. Fifth appendix presents a table, which contains a list of comparative statement of extraordinary expenses of HM embassy at Constantinople 1857-69, £ sterling. Sixth appendix shows the Cumberbatch's letter to Waugh from the United States (US) Embassy in Constantinople. Seventh and eighth appendix presents a list of non-career staff employed at the British Consulate-general Istanbul, 1946 and British consuls-general at Istanbul 1806-2008. Last appendix presents a list of Anglo-Turkish bilateral Agreements presented to the House of Commons, 1945-2000.
