This section of the book titled How India Clothed the World contains a list of terms of the book titled How India Clothed the World. The first of the three parts in which the book is divided looks at non-western markets for Indian cloth, in effect tying Indian textiles with Asian and African producers and consumers. Indian cloth was received in markets that were physically and culturally worlds apart. It considers the 'extension' of trade in cotton textiles to Europe in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
