This front matter section of the book titled Tracing the Boundaries between Hindi and Urdu: Lost and Added in Translation between 20th Century Short Stories contains the table of contents, preface and acknowledgements, and a guide to transliteration. Throughout the work, the author had chosen to use transliteration when quoting text fragments. The transliterations of the bilingual corpus are presented such that the text in its original language can be found on the left hand side of the page with the transliteration of translated version on the right.
