These figures include teaching the '2nd Battalion' the Bagpipes and the painting of the signing of the Peace of Vereeniging at Melrose House on 31 May 1902 depicts the moment State Secretary F. W. Reitz rose, pen in hand, and dramatically stated that he signed only in his official capacity, and not as F. W. Reitz.
