Chapter Summary

The textual history of the books of Samuel is all about the question of textual criticism and text historical evaluation of the various text forms. 2 Sam 12 is in the area of so-called Kaige sections of the books of Samuel. The best textual witness of Kaige-text, at least in Samuel and Kings, is the Codex Vaticanus. This chapter discusses the works of Natalio Fernández Marcos and José Ramón Busto Saiz. The Hebrew text forms at this point is just to note that the text has many problems in the books of Samuel and Kings. An essential aspect for the question of the age of the Hebrew text is to determine the ratio of the Greek text shapes to each other. The original text of the chapter is in German.
