Chapter Summary

There are fewer μετάνοιαι than one might have expected from the title (and the initial allusion to Hippolytus 436) in these addenda to the same authors Sophoclea (Oxford 1990, accompanying their new OCT), with an eye also to H. Lloyd-Joness Sophocles Loeb. Pp. 11137 offer brief or extended notes on some four hundred passages, nearly all with full lemmata, and pp. ‡ 13942 some ninety corrections of errata in Sophoclea; an Appendix (1436) looks critically at some recent textual studies and ends on a note of apologia; 147 Index. Many of the notes do little more than report agreement expressed in reviews or castigate dissent. Several bear only on a point of interpretation.

Keywords: H. Lloyd-Jones; Sophoclea
