Chapter Summary

This chapter briefly describes the catalogue of fragments for Metope A of the Hekatompedon Inscription. The fragments for Metope A were formally edited and published as a unit for the first time in IG I3 following the disposition offered by B. H. Hill (pl. 88). Given the fact that physically Metope A must still be described as fragmentary and unreconstructed, the author have chosen to edit each fragment separately in a catalogue, and then to consider in Appendix 2 what can be said about the placement of the individual pieces and why. The designation ΣΤΟIΧ.38 is given for each of these fragments, including those which form the second part of Metope A. Part I of Metope A consists of lines 1 through 15, with a vacat finishing out line 15. Part II consists of lines 16 through 28.
