Chapter Summary

The author believes that it was the Spirit of God who drove him into the field of inter-religious relation and who continues to prod him to cross the frontiers of the religion to enter into dialogue with other religious traditions. He says that this has been his experience ever since school days. The author accepts the view that Jesus Christ is the Primordial Sacrament of God and, therefore, all Religions must find their fulfilment in Jesus Christ. He adds some further thoughts on the crucial importance of moving from a conversion model to an inculturation model of double or multiple belonging. It is in the field of inter-religious dialogue that one now speaks about double religious belonging. The author concludes with a Tamil song from his native land. It is a verse dedicated to Lord Shiva as a loving Divine Mother, taken from the Tiruvacagam of the Tamil Saint Manikkavacaga.
