Chapter Summary

This chapter focuses on the point of intersection of the European Union-Economic Partnership Agreements (EU-EPAs) and the global financial and economic crises with the aim to provide a better understanding of the magnitude of the problem facing the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) regions entering into EPAs with EU bloc imperialism. In the light of the current global financial and economic crises, the debate on the EU-EPAs must be expanded to consider how the crises will impact on these trade arrangements and the implications of this for the ACP-EPA regions. The chapter is intended as a contribution towards that debate.
