Chapter Summary

This chapter focuses on the Old Greek version of Isaiah. It offers a painstaking and fresh philological commentary to Isaiah 2 in the Septuagint. One of the most significant emphases in Aries scholarly publications is a close reading of the ancient versions of the Old Testament as against an atomistic, too narrowly focused textual criticism. Results of a close study of a version take the form of a running commentary on it, and that is presented in the chapter.
