Chapter Summary

This conclusory chapter examines the flow of books circulating among the Norwegian clergy, that is, the circulation of knowledge among a specific type of educated personnel in a European periphery during a period marked by expansion and exchange in all matters of debate. Only a few of the libraries presented in this chapter can be said to have been of the "Pietist" type, at least if this label is applied only to those book collections that include a substantial number of books by Spener and Francke.
