Chapter Summary

This preliminary material presents the table of contents for the book ABIA South and Southeast Asian Art and Archaeology Index. A list of illustrations, list of tables, and a preface for the book are provided here. An important injection of confidence to the working of ABIA was administered when UNESCO recognized the contribution that ABIA had provided to art and archaeology of South and Southeast Asia even before UNESCO was born. In order to find structural embedding beyond library circles, the ABIA project aims to achieve SAARC and SEAMEO support for its enterprise through Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), along the lines of the ABIA - UNESCO Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). An editorial note; ABIA index coverage; list of annotators, editors and institutes; and periodicals from which articles were processed for the ABIA Index database in the period 2002-2006 are provided here.
