Alexandre Bennigsen, an emigrant from Russia, gathered an excellent team of scholars able to study Ottoman, Crimean, as well as Russian sources and initiated the edition of documents from the Topkapi Palace Archives regarding the Crimean Khanate. This chapter presents Document 65, which comprises a copy of the oath taken by Dedesh Agha, the envoy of the new khan, on 3 September 1666 in Warsaw, in His Royal Majestys Palace.
