The short but fiery career of the famous jurist Lodovico Pontano (1439) led from the universities of Bologna, Florence, Rome and Siena, the Roman curia and the court of Alfonso V of Aragon to the Council of Basel. The family Pontano is derived its name from its origins in Ponte and especially emerged from a complete series scholar in the 15th century. However, the members of the family tried to ascend Pontano society, especially through education. The original text of the chapter is in German.
