Chapter Summary

This chapter discusses the source and research status of the Lodovico Pontano in Siena. The case of Siena has a very special tradition situation mainly by the largely preserved Council transcript. After the first decades of the 15th Century financial crises and plague led to a large instability of studio' and to a temporary closure teaching operation in Siena. Contract negotiations with the Pontano brothers are in the planning stage for the coming academic year 1433/34. The chapter discusses stay negotiations and contract extension of the Lodovico Pontano in Siena. The process of the extension of the contract of Pontanos in April 1434 is significantly different from the procedure applied in the previous year. The chapter finally presents an overview on the living and working of the Lodovico Pontano in Siena. The original text of the chapter is in German.
