Chapter Summary

The half-line is corrupt, disputed and untranslatable; it has been both emended and neglected. The syntax and the interpretation are also problematic. Also, the 3ms suffix is inconsistent with the 2ms vb. For some scholars, constitutes the very core of the text, while others delete it. MT is supported by 1QIsaa. The centrality of the half-line is related to scholars interpretations of the vicarious suffering in Isa.

Keywords: Isa; scholars
