Chapter Summary

This chapter presents a table which mentions all the verbs attested at least once in PH in Thucydides. This table is based on Stork (2008), which has followed the principles for processing auxiliary's paradigms and interpretations of ambiguous forms (exteive type). In accordance with this source, the numbers given in columns 1, 3, 4 and 5 are those verbal forms attested in the text edited by H. Stuart Jones (October 1942): they endorse editorial choices (alternatives and corrections ) without questioning them. Some of these figures can be challenged in detail, but the uncertainty that follows is quantitatively limited and has not appeared seriously challenge the design of this table. The original text of the chapter is in French.
