This chapter talks about Severan family groups relevant to the religious representation of the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus, the book offers a new look at the identity of a Roman Emperor originating in North Africa. L. Septimius Severus came from a knightly family from Lepcis Magna in Africa Proconsularis. A first aim of this book is the Imperial Representation of Septimius Severus illuminate the tension, in the traditionally Roman and those outside Italy with the Origin of the Emperor associated deities were staged.
