Chapter Summary

This bibliography of the book Intimate Invocations: Al-Ghazzī's Biography of ʿAbd al-Ghanī al-Nābulusī contains a list of reference books and material. Al-Ghazzī's text is important not just because of its length and extensive coverage, but also for the sophisticated way in which the story of al-Nābulusī life is constructed, framed, and presented. Al-Ghazzī was not a Sufi himself but had sympathy for Sufism, and it must have been a difficult task for him to engage with his great-grandfather's controversial mystical career in order to present it in a positive light without compromising his own official stance.

Keywords: Al-Ghazzī; al-Nābulusī; Sufism
