It also includes the passages of the iambic and elegiac poets that are cited according to the second edition of M.L. West, Iambi et Elegi Graeci, the Lesbian poets according to E.-M. Voigt, Sappho et Alcaeus (Amsterdam 1971), Pindar and Bacchylides according to H. Maehler's latest Teubner editions, and the remaining lyric poets according to D. L. Page, Poetae Melici Graeci, and M. Davies, Poetarum Melicoruni Graecorum Fragmental I. The early Greek lyric poetry is customary to include under this heading all poetry from the 7th to the mid-5th century B.C. with the exception of stichic hexameters and drama.
