Chapter Summary

This chapter compares the theological and religious ideas and concepts underlying the terms of ion and x ^ piç in the Rule of the Community (1QS) and Galatians. The chapter gives a brief summary of the ion meaning in the literary set. It proceeds with the analysis of the ion significance in the Rule of the Community and its relation to the Old Testament texts. The chapter examines the direction of x ^ piç in Galatians. It studies the relationship between these two lexemes. In this world, the community is designated as the "House of Holiness for Israel" and the "Holy of Holies for Aaron". The chapter focuses on the meaning of the term x ^ piç in Galatians to determine if there are possible connections with ion significance in the Community Rule.
