Chapter Summary

This chapter examines the "works of the law" in 4QMMT and Paul's letters under a particular aspect on both sides, i.e., how each author have understood the requirements of the Law on marriage and divorce to have a part in the salvation promised by God to the faithful. It is important to define what is meant by the phrase "works of the law" in these compositions. The chapter reviews the positions of the Essenes and Paul taking the orders of Jesus, faced with the evangelical data that is prescribed by the Act on marriage and divorce in the Bible and some applications in the history of the people. In the New Testament, the term "works of the law" is known as the Paulian letters that is mentioned only in specific contexts. The original text of the chapter is in French.
