Chapter Summary

By means of its present Judgment in Bulacio versus Argentina, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights has pronounced on a case which well portrays the contingencies of the human condition, and the importance of the realization of justice and the guarantee of non-repetition of the facts harmful to human rights as a measure of reparation. Reparation, thus understood, encompassing, in the framework of the realization of justice, the satisfaction to the victims (or their relatives) and the guarantee of non-repetition of the harmful acts-such as sustained by the Inter-American Court in the present Judgment in the case Bulacio versus Argentina, is endowed with undeniable importance. The rejection of indifference and oblivion, and the guarantee of non-repetition of the violations, are manifestations of the links of solidarity between the victims and the potential victims, in the violent world, empty of values, wherein we live.

Keywords: Argentina; Bulacio; Inter-American Court of Human Rights; potential victims; solidarity; violations
