Chapter Summary

This chapter focuses on representation of Mongolian final -l in the dialects of Monguor and in the other Mongolian languages of the Kansu-chinghai region. It then discusses the origin and development of Mongolian languages. The connection between the Mongol and Tibetan developments is clearly demonstrated by the Tibetan loanwords of the archaic Mongolian dialects of the Kansu-chinghai area.
