Chapter Summary

This bibliography presents a list or reference articles and books relevant to the discussion of nineteenth century American Anarchism. American Anarchism in particular, with its acceptance of the efficiency of free enterprise - though not of the abuses by oligopolies that control key industries or services - is close in its philosophy to the ideals of contemporary individualistic "market anarchists" who wish to preserve the marketplace while jettisoning the exploitative system of capitalism.

Keywords: capitalism; nineteenth century American anarchism
