Chapter Summary

This chapter of the book African Participation at the World Trade Organization: Legal and Institutional Aspects, 1995-2010 contains fifteen annexes. The first annex is regional groupings of WTO members for purposes of the research. The last annex is share of GDP of African countries accounted for by trade in commercial services. The book investigates the inter-relationships between the institutional engagement of African countries in the regular work of the Organization, the Doha negotiations, and the extent of legal participation in the dispute settlement system. It argues that the combined investigation of this three-way inter-relationship enhances understanding on African participation in these key areas of the multilateral rules-based trading system.

Keywords: African participation; dispute settlement system; Doha negotiations; multilateral rules-based trading system; WTO members
