Chapter Summary

This introductory chapter provides an overview of the key themes discussed in the book on Topography and History of Ancient Epicnemidian Locris. Essentially the book is divided into three parts. In the first the geography of the region is studied, necessary for understanding the area, followed by the topography with the analysis of the information collected and with the intention of revealing the patterns and evolution of the population, the hierarchy of settlements, the fortifications and system of defense and the routes and frequency of navigation along its coasts. The third part is dedicated to the different historical periods from the Neolithic to the end of Antiquity.
