Chapter Summary

This bibliography of the book Aposynagōgos and the Historical Jesus in John: Rethinking the Historicity of the Johannine Expulsion Passages presents a list of references relevant to the discussion on the historicity of the Johannine expulsion passages. The book designates collectively the Johannine aposynagōgos passages. John's aposynagōgos passages contain the earliest extant uses of the word ἀποσυνάγωγος, an adjective that might be most woodenly translated as "from-synagogue". It demonstrates that community criticism remains the regnant framework through which John's Gospel and more specifically the aposynagōgos passages are read.

Keywords: Jesus; Johannine aposynagōgos passages; John Kloppenborg; John's Gospel
