This front matter section of the book Recollecting Resonances: Indonesian-Dutch Musical Encounters contains the table of contents. Remembrance of the Dutch era in contemporary Indonesian society is quite a different story as is clearly reflected in the contributions to the book, most of which deals with the Dutch or Indische side of things. Western-style music education was the inspiration for Indonesian music institutions, the first of which was the Konservatori Karawitan Indonesia, established in Solo, Central Java, in 1950.
