Chapter Summary

The Qur&s;anic text often mentions the earlier sacred scriptures, that is to say mainly the Scriptures present in Judaism and Christianity. This chapter presents how the Qurʾān describes the earlier sacred Scriptures, the links that the Qurʾān established between these scriptures and itself, and the consequences of discourse on self-reference. It is visible through the common vocabulary and repeated formulas (intratextuality), qui express similar themes: thus appears parallelism. Sometimes the discourse exceeds the parallelism and seems even to assimilation between the Qurʾān and earlier Scriptures. S. Wild emphasized that one of the causes of difficulty in understanding the self-referential discourse is blurring over earlier scriptures. The chapter allows us to explain the dimension of self-reference and its consequences, and to propose hypotheses about the causes of the discourse on the earlier scriptures. The original text of the chapter is in French.

Keywords: Christianity; common vocabulary; discourse consequences; Judaism; Qurʾān; sacred scriptures; self-referential discourse
