Chapter Summary

This chapter presents a short foreword of the book "Reflections on Global Law". 'Global law' may be deemed as somewhat of an enigma. Although the request for definitive answers on global law, may be a little idealistic, or perhaps even unattainable and rather a misconceived thought, it is time that an exploration of the relatively straightforward question of 'what is global law' occurred. The book is a wonderfully diverse anthology of global law pieces, which allows the reader to proceed one step closer to the crux of the enigma that is global law. It deals with the interdisciplinary character and complexities of global law, demonstrates the further need, within academia, to delve into this newly emerging field of law, and discusses the exciting global law initiatives taking place in Tilburg.
