Chapter Summary

The hand of duty leads the author to answer with his part of testimony in praise of the name of Samuel, since it is good for the sake of the Lord to make to pass before Him the high praise of a good name. The statement of praise is established in the second chapter of Avot: "One who has acquired unto himself a good name, has acquired it for himself". However, as the way of a ship in the midst of the sea is to arrive at a desired destination, so too the way of man in the world is tobear the measure of the seed of perfection and of a good name, even unto the hinder day shall be his border. Now, the man that desireth life will behold the similitude of the Lord and perform excellent actions in His likeness, after His image.
