Chapter Summary

This bibliography contains a list of reference books, articles, and other works that have been cited for the book Vocatives: How Syntax meets with Pragmatics. The book provides a syntactic account for the internal structure of Vocative Phrases, as well as for the way in which the Vocative Phrase connects with the clause. The main thesis is twofold: (i) vocative nouns are regular NPs or DPs embedded in a functional layer that allows them to map the addressee; and (ii) these phrases are visible to the syntactic derivation and merge as arguments in the field that encodes conversational pragmatics at the left periphery of clauses.

Keywords: syntactic derivation; vocative nouns; Vocative Phrases
