Chapter Summary

Zawiya of Ben Yeffu corresponds to the village where the saint is buried and where his descendants live. A small hallway connects the first section of the sanctuary to another, at the entrance of which, on the left, one can find the maḥkama, the court, an open space where shurfa healers of different lineages sat. The sanctuary is currently without mqaddam unifier whose authority is recognized by the majority of shurfa. In the absence of a central authority capable of gathering, directing and managing the affairs of the sanctuary and for tempering the intensity of conflict, shurfa had just introduced the ḍawr system, the 'tour'. The ḍawr system certainly could regulate distributions of donations between different lineages. But it has solved the problem partially. The original text of the chapter is in French.
