This bibliography presents a list of reference books and articles relevant to the discussion on Chinese studies in the Netherlands. The book discusses three articles that are historical to provide an overview of Chinese studies in the Netherlands during specific periods of time. It highlights that the teaching of Chinese in the Netherlands has always been motivated by its relevance to contemporary societal needs. Twentieth-century Dutch sinologists in their own research have overwhelmingly turned to the past.
