This chapter of the book Workers, Unions and Politics: Indonesia in the 1920s and 1930s presents the biography of its author, John Ingleson. John Ingleson is Professor Emeritus in history at the University of New South Wales. He is also an Emeritus Professor at the University of Western Sydney and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Australia. He was Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of New South Wales from 1994 to 2000 and Deputy Vice-Chancellor from 2000 to 2006. He was Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Western Sydney from 2007 to 2011.
