Chapter Summary

This chapter presents a list of contributors along with their (former) affiliations for the book The Crustacea. Crustaceans play a considerable ecological role in both marine and freshwater trophic networks. As well as constituting a significant link between phytoplankton and higher-level animals, they also make up a large part of the detritivores. In fresh water, crustaceans play a key role in pelagic zones, with cladocerans and copepods being major drivers of phytoplankton dynamics.

Keywords: crustaceans; freshwater trophic networks; marine trophic networks; phytoplankton
