Chapter Summary

This chapter deals with the ablaut of PIE collectives and the question if u-stem collectives existed, whereas one treats new material belonging to i-stem collectives derived from o-stems. Among others, the following words are discussed: Hitt. isḫunau 'upper arm', ḫarganau 'palm of hand or foot', sinura(nt) - 'poor' ('deprived'), Greek ἄνευ 'without' sn̥h1-eu̯ (sic), Ved. sā.
